Israel has the right weather and soil to make excellent wine but still needs to find its own distinct style.

Over the past decade in Israel, wine has turned into a thriving industry. With 5,000 years of wine history behind it, Israel wants the world to know that it’s now back in business.The 200+ boutique wineries in Israel, such as Ampohre and Tisbhi, are making leaps and bounds in wine development and production. At the moment, the cost is around $20 per bottle – high due to the cost of land and water. According to industry experts, Israel has the right weather and soil to make excellent wine but still needs to find its own distinct style to set it apart from its European counterparts.For the moment, the Tourism Ministry is showing international journalists around the vineyards, and hopefully it won’t be too long before Israel starts producing its very own world class wine.
