'Underwear bomber' pleads guilty

Nigerian man accused of trying to blow up US airliner on Christmas Day 2009 tells US federal judge he's guilty of all charges against him.

In just the second day of his trial, the so-called "underwear bomber" changed his plea on Wednesday.
Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab - the Nigerian man accused of trying to blow up a US airplane on Christmas Day in 2009 -- told a federal judge that he was in fact guilty of all charges against him.
Attorney Anthony Chambers assisted in his defense.
The 24-year-old told the judge he was fulfilling a quote..."religious duty" and warned the United States could face what he called "a great calamity."
Abdulmutallab was accused of trying to bomb a Northwest Airlines jet bound from Amsterdam to Detroit by detonating a bomb hidden in his underwear.
