Ministry issues warning to penicillin-sensitive users of Silverol burn cream
By JUDY SIEGEL-ITZKOVICH
03/10/2014
People who are sensitive to penicillin should not apply to their skin the commonly used skin-burn ointment named Silverol, at least until further notice, the Health Ministry advised on Monday.

The well-known cream reduces pain and the risk of scars if applied promptly after suffering a burn. Although there have been no side effects locally in the form of cross infections with beta-lactamase antibiotics, the ministry said there have been some such reports abroad. The advisory has been issued as a precaution, the ministry said.
