Hours after three Palestinians were killed in gun battles during a counter-terrorism raid in Jenin early Saturday morning, some 150 protesters rioted at Damascus Gate, outside the Old City, resulting in six arrests.
According to police, the riot began at approximately 5:30 p.m. when the group, angered over the deaths in the northern West Bank, began throwing rocks at police. To disperse the crowd, police used non-lethal stun grenades.
Police said no one was injured during the melee, adding that the area has since been secured.
The IDF is on stand by in the West Bank for the possibility of an increase in disturbances in the coming days.
Tens of thousands took part in the funeral of the three Palestinians on Saturday.
The participants called for revenge and also called on the Palestinian Authority to end the peace talks with Israel and reconcile with Hamas.
