Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas said Thursday that he has no intention of dismantling the PA, but "Israel can break it up if it pleases."

Speaking in an interview with Lebanon-based Palestinian television station, Al-Awda, Abbas said, "I'm prepared to return to the negotiations, which were stopped by the Israeli side, on condition that they release the fourth batch of prisoners and halt construction in settlements within three months."

Abbas referred to as "thuggery" Israel's decision to freeze the transfers of tax revenues to the PA in response to the Palestinian decision to apply to 15 international treaties and conventions.

"We have the right to apply to international organizations, and if Israel continues with its decisions, we have already said that it can take on the management of and responsibility for the Palestinian Authority," he said.
