WASHINGTON – Adding to a tradition set by his predecessor, Barack Obama, US President Donald Trump will throw two Hanukkah parties this year, according to a White House official.
The events will take place on December 5 in the afternoon, and there will be “no distinction” between the two. The purpose for two parties is simply to accommodate more guests, the official said.
Trump held a small Hanukkah reception last year that included some of his most enthusiastic donors. The events this year are likely to include a wider net of American Jewish organizations.
The president is expected to deliver speeches at both.
