Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez owes $1,870.36 in corporate taxes for her now defunct publishing company, according to the New York Post.
The paper cited public records in a report published Saturday.
Brook Avenue Press, a New York children's book publisher founded by Ocasio-Cortez in 2012, was issued a warrant in 2017 for the back taxes, the NYP reported. The newspaper also said public records indicate the company dissolved in 2016.
The freshman New York Democrat last week backed a proposal to tax stock trades. She also has called for a 70% tax on incomes that exceed $10 million.
Assuming office in January, Ocasio-Cortez has been accused of siding with the anti-Israel crowd. Early in March, she retweeted a post criticizing AIPAC from Yousef Munayyer of the US Campaign for Palestinian Rights. A month before, she had a phone conference with UK Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn.
Ocasio-Cortez also has claimed Jewish heritage, stating her family roots are from Sephardi Jews who were forced to flee to Puerto Rico during the Spanish Inquisition. Last year she celebrated Hanukkah with a left-wing group called Jews for Racial and Economic Justice.
