Chief of Staff Aviv Kochavi visited the Gaza Division on Sunday as the country faced an escalation of violence along its border regions with the Gaza Strip.During the visit, Kochavi, former commander of the Gaza Division, attended an assessment of the escalations and was accompanied by Major General Herzi Halevi, commander of the Southern Command, Commander of the Gaza Division Brigadier General Eliezer Toledano and other IDF officers.Over 700 rockets were fired towards Israel since the weekend by Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad militants, killing four civilians and injuring close to 80.Israel responded with targeted air strikes at observation posts, warehouses, Hamas offices and weapons facilities.
