On Wednesday, hundreds of Palestinians attended the funeral of a Palestinian who was killed overnight during IDF raids near the West Bank city of Ramallah.

Clashes erupted after the funeral, between Israeli forces and Palestinians hurling stones.

During the night raids, the Israel security forces - seeking to detain a Hamas militant - were confronted by around 50 Palestinians who hurled stones, petrol bombs and burning tires at them, an IDF spokeswoman said.

One of the rioters was seen throwing an explosive device at soldiers, according to the IDF Spokesperson's Unit. Soldiers opened fire at the suspect, striking him. The man later died of gunshot wounds.

Palestinian medics said 22-year-old Issa al-Qitri was shot in the heart in al-Amari refugee camp. Seven others were arrested.

Following the violent clash, the IDF proceeded to the Hamas operative’s home, arrested him, and seized ammunition and several firearms during the arrest.

Earlier on Wednesday, the IDF arrested six wanted Palestinians, including four who allegedly took part in previous rioting and attacks against Israeli civilians and security forces, the army said. Arrests were made in Kalandiya, Shukba, Ramallah, and Sair, northwest of Bethlehem.

Two of the suspects are Hamas members.
