Magen David Adom cooperated with the Foreign Ministry, the Coordinator of Government Activities in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip and the Turkish Red Crescent.

MDA works on an ongoing basis to transfer the ill and the wounded from Gaza to Israeli hospitals, spokesman Zaki Heller said. Around 100 Gazans are transferred for treatment to Israeli hospitals every month, Heller told The Jerusalem Post.

During Operation Protective Edge, Gazans refused to be evacuated to Israel resulting in a very low number of transfers to Israeli hospitals, Heller added.
