Magen David Adom medical crews, helped evacuate 18 wounded Gazans along with 16 escorts from the Erez border crossing to Ben-Gurion International Airport where they boarded a plane that took them for treatment at a hospital in Ankara, Turkey.

One of the injured was in serious condition, four were in moderate condition and 13 had light injuries, MDA reported.     Magen David Adom cooperated with the Foreign Ministry, the Coordinator of Government Activities in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip and the Turkish Red Crescent.MDA works on an ongoing basis to transfer the ill and the wounded from Gaza to Israeli hospitals, spokesman Zaki Heller said. Around 100 Gazans are transferred for treatment to Israeli hospitals every month, Heller told The Jerusalem Post. During Operation Protective Edge, Gazans refused to be evacuated to Israel resulting in a very low number of transfers to Israeli hospitals, Heller added.
