New video by the National Resistance Brigades
The National Resistance Brigades, the military wing of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, has revealed a new tunnel built by its fighters underneath the Gaza-Israel border.
A video released by the organization on Sunday presents some of the organization's fighters striding inside the tunnel carrying arms, and shows the improvised rockets the organization possesses.
Speaking in the video, the National Resistance Brigades' spokesman, Abu Khaled, claimed that his organization is preparing for the next war with the Israeli enemy. According to Abu Khaled, the tunnel presented in the video was dug by the operatives of the group’s tunnels' unit and will be used by the organization's fighters to commit terror attacks against Israel and kidnap Israeli soldiers in order to swap them for Palestinian prisoners.
The National Resistance Brigades is a secular jihadist group that was founded in 2000, after the beginning of the Second Intifada. Since the group is secular it opposes Hamas' aspiration to impose Sharia law in Gaza.
However, the video shows that the group shares Hamas' strategy of using cross-border tunnels as a game-changing weapon. In addition, Abu Khaled's rhetoric, speaking about preparation for a war with Israel, is identical to the rhetoric of Hamas, which named its fighters who died after the collapse of a tunnel "the martyrs of preparation."
