FESTIVAL

The biannual Abu Ghosh Vocal Music Festival offers a varied program that ranges from Monteverdi and Dvorak to Sibelius and Dylan Thomas. One of the more intriguing performances is the male vocal ensemble Profeti della Quinta (pictured) concert on Saturday.

DANCE

Sally-Ann Friedlander’s dance company presents an evening entitled “Double” on the Dance Tel Aviv roster. Two works will be performed – Dyo (Ink) by choreographer Dganit Shemi and Human Nature by Friedlander.

EXHIBITIONS

Two new exhibitions open at the Tower of David in Jerusalem next Thursday, both focusing on contemporary designs inspired by the Holy City.

The “Threads” contemporary fashion exhibition was inspired by the women of Jerusalem, and the “Suspicious Objects” industrial design exhibition was inspired by the city itself.

MIXED BAG

The Haifa Stair Run takes place tomorrow morning, with hundreds of professional and amateur runners expected to participate in the various events, such as the Everest-like 8,800-meter climb. The 3-km. climb (between 1,075 and 1,500 stairs in different trails) will start at the lower city by the port, ascending to Gan Ha’em in the center of the Carmel.

An event in Jerusalem at Ticho House, Musical Spring in Anna’s Salon, takes place in conjunction with the closing of the exhibition “Anna’s Vienna.”

Enjoy an evening of classical and popular songs about springtime, which includes works by Schubert, Mozart, Mendelssohn and others. With soprano Shira Bitan, baritone Shachar Shamai and pianist Omri Abram.

Some 23 galleries and 53 artists will be presenting in this year’s Fresh Paint art event in Tel Aviv.
