Participants and judges from 17 countries will gather in Tel Aviv this week for the Israeli Bridge Association's fortieth annual tournament. Budgeted at roughly NIS one million, the event is expected to attract 10,000 competitors from Israel and abroad, and for the first time will allow players to receive competition results via text message. Separate competitions will be held for children, youth, men, women and retirees. The event opened in Herzliya on Thursday, with competition beginning at the Congress Center today in Tel Aviv.
