2. QUIET MUSIC
Starting tonight, Mitzpe Ramon hosts a two-day festival of intimate encounters between musical writers and performers of different genres.
The festival organizers believe that in the middle of the desert, on the edge of a cliff overlooking the magnificent Ramon Crater, the silence of the desert will add magic to these encounters. In the opening act, Amir Lev will host Berry Sakharof for an acoustic concert. Other artists include Mika Karni, The Angelcy (folk) Elephant Love (indie) and more. The Chicago Blues with Mark Rashko will hold a party into the night.
There will also be many street performances, stalls and a farmers’ market.

3. LIFE AND ART
"Haunted by the Future” is one of this week’s highlights of the Hot Dance Festival, a collaboration between Nigel Chenuk and Talia Paz (pictured) and the Center for Contemporary Dance in Zurich – presenting love versus sex and life versus art. Other premieres in the same evening are works by Ofra Idel, Super Power, and a new work by Neder Rossano, Off-Line.

4. TIMES 4
Different Dance is a small-scale festival in which 24 choreographers present works that utilize different types of media, such as videoart, cinema, poetry and graphic arts.
Each evening will consist of a number of artists who will perform short works on the same stage. On the first evening there will be four short and intriguing works.

5. COME TO ARAD
The Arad Festival of Israeli Music returns, celebrating its 30th anniversary under the slogan “There is music in the air.” Three days and nights of free indoor and open-air concerts, with top artists such as Ilanit with the Beersheba Symphony Orchestra, Sarit Hadad, Ben Artzi, Pitango, Sy and Nahum Heyman and many more.

6. MUSIC FOR ALL
The Festival Beshekel (1 Shekel Festival) will take place in Ma’alot- Tarshiha this year, featuring a few of the most popular performers in Israel, as well as newcomers.
The cost of a ticket is still NIS 1. Among this year’s performers are Rami Fortis (pictured), Karolina, Los Caparos, Dr. Kasper’s Rabbit Show and Moshik Afia.

Popular Greek singer Giorgos Dalaras returns to his adoring audiences in Israel for two concerts: Wednesday at 8:30 p.m.
at the Sultan’s Pool in Jerusalem and next Friday at 9:30 p.m. at the Congress Center in Haifa. Joining him are Greek colleagues Dimitris Mpasis and Melina Aslanidou, a 10-piece orchestra and special guest Ahinoam Nini (Noa), who will perform a duet with Dalaras to words by poet Aris Dorakis.

8. MONUMENTAL
Tonight, artist Ron Arad’s monumental work 720 Degrees will be on view in The Israel Museum Jerusalem’s Sculpture Garden as part of the Jerusalem Season of Culture. The work, dwarfing everything around it, will be seen from afar and will remain there until September 5. The piece comprises 55,600 silicon rods suspended from a height of eight meters to form a 20-meter wide circle.
The cords provide a backdrop onto which works by Israeli and non-Israeli artworks will be projected for outdoor viewing in the evenings. NIS 36 to NIS 45.

9. FLY MY KITE
The annual colorful Kite- Flying Festival, a longstanding tradition at the Israel Museum, is back, this time, in conjunction with the exhibition “Crossplay: Male Actors, Female Roles in Kabuki Theater.”
There will be kite-making workshops, kite-flying and a musical parade of giant puppets.

10. BACK TO THE BEGINNING
Reading 3 in the Tel Aviv Port is launching two exciting new Israeli Music series – Respect and My First Album, with performers such as Dana Berger (pictured), Korin Alal and Matti Caspi. The first installation is that of Berger, who will be going back to her hard-rock past with members of The Noise band and guest artists. Next Thursday at Reading 3, Tel Aviv Port 10.
