Lebanon President Joseph Aoun said that the IDF's strikes against the Litani River's bridge were a "dangerous escalation" and warned that the attacks would be "considered a prelude to a ground invasion that Lebanon has long warned against."
In remarks on Sunday, Auon warned that the IDF's targeting of the Litani River bridges "amounts to an attempt to sever geographical connectivity between the area south of the Litani and the rest of Lebanese territories, obstructing the delivery of humanitarian aid."
He warned that the attacks "fall within suspicious schemes to establish a buffer zone," as he also warned of "the reality of occupation, and pursue Israeli expansion within Lebanese territories."
"In the face of this escalation, Lebanon calls on the international community, particularly the United Nations and Security Council members, to shoulder their responsibilities and take immediate measures to deter Israel from carrying out this attack," he concluded in a statement shared by Lebanon's presidency.

The weaponry, the military stated, would have been used to carry out terror attacks against IDF troops and against Israel.
On Sunday afternoon, the IDF announced that it was beginning a new wave of strikes in southern Lebanon, targeting Hezbollah infrastructure.

Three additional terrorists were killed by tank fire, the IDF said, adding that the Israeli side suffered no casualties.
The military also announced on Sunday that the Israeli Air Force, directed by ground troops, had killed an additional nine Hezbollah terrorists on Saturday night in southern Lebanon. No IDF injuries were reported.
