L'Or al is going for a marketing strategy teaming makeup to hair and eye coloring. A colleague tried a Color Riche Made for Me Naturals lipstick for brunettes, while I tried two shades for dark blondes. She noted that this color-match strategy may not be foolproof, but it does help provide direction to those who wander around the makeup aisles aimlessly. The lipsticks are classically and attractively packaged in a rectangular, gold-colored compact. The lipstick itself is rich and smooth, and although it isn't particularly long lasting, it does give a polished, New York-y finish. Teamed with a neutral lip liner, it was perfect for everyday office wear; these are good lipsticks for those who like a barely-there look. The same colleague also tried the Color Appeal Trio Pro eye shadows for green eyes. Even though hers are hazel, she found at least two of the three (cream and golden brown) very appealing. The texture of these colors is great: rich, smooth and long lasting. The Trio Pro packages also come in colors suitable for women with blue, brown or grey eyes. The Color Riche Made for Me lipsticks are NIS 90, and the Color Appeal Pro Trio eye shadows are NIS 62.
In the summer collection of Moran comfort shoes, you will be able to find some new models that look elegant and feel comfortable at the same time. Some of the models in the new collection still have a kind of heavy, "health shoe"-like look, but the model I tried (401) certainly was fashionable enough. These Bordeaux-red sandals with an open heel have two straps on top of the feet that are closed with Velcro, so you can adjust them to the width of your feet. The leather has some cute patterns, with cross-stitches on both sides. On the comfort level, these shoes didn't disappoint either: at the end of the day, my feet still didn't feel tired. Prices for women's shoes range from NIS 330 to NIS 390.
A colleague who tried Clinique Continuous Rescue Antioxidant Moisturizer for combination oily to oily skin thought this to be a great moisturizer for her skin type. The blurb says that it includes sunscreen, but what really interested her was how it was going to sink into the skin. Having combination skin means moisturizers need to be sophisticated, not too light so that the dry areas still receive adequate moisture, not too heavy to end up feeling greasy. She has tried expensive moisturizers that were great, and cheaper ones that were acceptable, and Clinique's version strikes a good balance between those and actually moisturizes for a number of hours without feeling heavy or even the slightest bit greasy. An addictive product that actually does what it promises to do. Clinique Continuous Rescue Antioxidant is also available in versions for dry combination and very dry to dry skin; 50 ml. is NIS 295.
Burberry Summer is a fruity, rather sweet scent, with touches of mandarin, bergamot and grapefruit, that still is light enough for the warmer days, as its name suggests. This classy, elegant fragrance is great for everyday wear. The design of the bottle is very simple, with just the name Burberry and the word Summer written in pink on the transparent bottle; the packaging is simple white with a line of the famous Burberry check design in pink and white. Definitely a great summer scent; Burberry Summer is also available in a version for men. A 50 ml. bottle of eau de toilette is NIS 327, 100 ml. is NIS 439 and the Burberry Summer for men is NIS 350 for 100 ml.
Clarins Eclat Minute Instant Light Complexion Perfector is a light, liquid shimmer that is meant to be worn either on bare skin or under foundation to give a healthy glow. Our test subject noted that many products claim to achieve this effect, but few do so successfully (Usually the result is unsubtle, leaving you looking like a glitter ball.) Here the effect is suitably elegant, but would have been more successful, perhaps, on older skin that is drier and has less natural glow. The Instant Light Complexion Perfector is NIS 189 for a 30 ml. tube; for the under-eye area, and to correct small imperfections, you can try the brush-on complexion corrector Eclat Minute Instant Light Perfecting Touch (NIS 135).
