A relative newcomer to the world of bartending, Emi Shahar has quickly learned the trade and enjoys spending her nights working at one of Jerusalem’s newest bars.When not serving drinks at the Barrel Public House, Emi can be found buried in her books studying for a law degree in Kiryat Ono. Although she sometimes struggles with the long nights, Emi says the best way to deal with it is to just not waste time sleeping.Even though she enjoys the attention that the customers at the Barrel Public House give her, she does sometimes get tired of the barrage of people trying to hit on her while she is behind the bar. She took some time out from pouring the shots to talk about her crush on Johnny Depp and why she hates Long Island Ice Teas.How long have you been bartending?I've only been doing it for about three months. My friend introduced me to the owners of this place about three months ago, and it started from there.What is the craziest night you have ever had behind the bar?Every night is a crazy night! There was this one night, and it wasn’t even a weekend, where I got pretty drunk along with all the customers. They were all customers that I really like and we just had a great party until the early hours.Who would be your dream customer?Johnny Depp.Why?Well, I wouldn’t just want Johnny Depp as himself, I would want him as the character Jack Sparrow [from Pirates of the Caribbean].[Ami takes a break in the middle of answering the questions about Jhonny Depp to pour everyone sat around the bar a shot of Schnapps.]So, back to Johnny, or more accurately Jack: Why him?He is the best actor ever, and he's hot.What drink would you serve to Jack?Rum, of course.What’s your favorite drink to make for people in general?Shots.Why?I like to see people gag a little. It makes me laugh. Also, they’re easy to make and not complicated at all.What is your least favorite drink to make?Long Island Ice Tea.Why?Its takes too much time. When I'm busy it’s hard to do.What is the worst thing about the job?I drink too much.Why is that a bad thing?It’s just not healthy!What is the best tip you have ever received in one night?NIS 1,000.What did you do to get it?Let’s just say I’m good at getting people drunk.
