Mark Morris Dance to per

After a 13-year hiatus, the Mark Morris Dance Group (MMDG) will return to the Tel Aviv Performing Arts Center's Israeli Opera House for six performances between December 29 and January 3, 2010. MMDG will perform Mark Morris works spanning the end of the twentieth and beginning of the twenty-first centuries, including Grand Duo (1993) and this year's Visitation (2009). As part of Morris's commitment to always perform with live music, the MMDG Music Ensemble will be accompanying MMDG to Tel Aviv. All of the works are set to various pieces of classical music. Concluding the program is the popular Morris work, V, from 2001, set to Robert Schumann's Quintet in E Flat Major for Piano and String Op. 44. The New York Times has declared V, "one of the few great works that modern dance has produced in a decade." All three works will be seen for the first time in Tel Aviv. The second program includes Eleven and Double from Mark Morris's acclaimed Mozart Dances.
