Several instances of shrapnel hits were reported throughout central and southern Israel midday on Sunday, following a missile barrage from Iran, which included cluster munitions.

Magen David Adom reported administering medical treatment to two men, aged 62 and 44, with light injuries as a result of the missile fire.

A short time later, another volley of missiles was fired from Iran, wounding one man in central Israel, who was evacuated to the closest hospital in moderate condition with glass shards in his head.

MDA paramedics also provided medical care to two elderly civilians, both approximately 80 years old. One suffered cuts from broken glass, and the other inhaled smoke, an MDA spokesperson stated.

According to the government, 3,481 people are currently staying in hotels after their homes were declared uninhabitable because of missile strikes and shrapnel. The main cities affected are Tel Aviv-Yafo, Beit Shemesh, Beersheba, Ramat Gan, Tirat Carmel, and Bnei Brak.

Sirens sound across Israel on Sunday morning

An earlier wave of missile launches on Sunday morning targeted Eilat in southern Israel at approximately 1:30 a.m., while sirens sounded across central Israel and the West Bank at approximately 2:30 a.m. and 5:30 a.m.

At least two people were injured by this wave, while a further four were being treated for injuries received while running to a shelter.

In response to the missile launches, the IDF’s Home Front Command sounded sirens across central Israel, the northern West Bank, Eilat, and the Arava. Initial reports indicate that shrapnel fell in Rishon Lezion, Ramle, and Bnei Brak. Both MDA and United Hatzalah reported no direct casualties.

However, MDA paramedics treated an unspecified number of people who were injured en route to the shelter, as well as those who suffered from anxiety. United Hatzalah added that they had also treated two people injured en route to shelters.

Fires started when vehicles in central Israel were struck by shrapnel, the Israel Fire and Rescue Authority stated. Firefighters responded to the scene, working to put out the fires and rescue those trapped inside. The fire also damaged a nearby building, the Israel Fire and Rescue Authority stated.

However, a Ramle municipal spokesperson denied this, stating that the fire occurred before the sirens sounded and that the two incidents are not connected, with police later corroborating this. Similarly, Netanya’s municipality sent out a message on its official social media confirming that a fire reported in the north of the coastal city also began before sirens sounded and was not linked to the falling shrapnel or a missile hit.

Meanwhile, several sirens were sounded in the Galilee Panhandle following suspected rocket launches from Hezbollah terrorists in Lebanon.

One of these resulted in a cluster munition landing in Metula, Israel’s public broadcaster KAN News reported on Saturday, adding that there were no injuries.

Iran launches several volleys of missiles towards Israel on Saturday

On Saturday, Iran sent at least six volleys of missiles to Israel, triggering alarms across the country.

MDA has said that only two people were injured as a result of the missiles and that it had evacuated at least five people to the emergency room for anxiety. Authorities said that two impact scenes were reported in central Israel.

MDA reported no casualties from impact scenes in the center, and no one is trapped under any rubble.
