Art Brut to assault Tel Aviv

British stylish punks Art Brut invade Tel Aviv’s Barby club on April 2.

Amid a year of shows by – let’s be kind – veteran performers, musicfans will get to witness a young band  that is red hot right now, whenBritish stylish punks Art Brut invade Tel Aviv’s Barby club on April 2.
Compared favorably to fellow arty rockers Franz Ferdinand andBloc Party, the five-piece band is led by gregarious front man EddieArgos, whose half-spoken, half shouted lyrics are full of humor andsatire. The first song the band wrote upon forming in 2003 was “FormedA Band” including the lyrics “I wanna be the boy/The man that writesthe song/That makes Israel and Palestine/Get along.” Next month, threeelectrifying albums later, including last year’s acclaimed Art Brut vs. Satan, Art Brut will get its chance.
