American singing sensation Kelly Clarkson is set to perform for the first time in Israel. The singer, who has become enormously popular in Israel with her hit songs "Since U Been Gone" and "Breakaway," is slated for a show in the spring, Ma'ariv reports. Clarkson's Israeli guitarist Danny Weissfeld told the paper that aside from a few technical matters, the show was set for March or April. Weissfeld said that he initiated the performance. "I talk to Kelly 24 hours a day about Israel and Jerusalem, and the Dead Sea, and that interested her in coming." Clarkson said that she was excited about making her first trip to Israel. "It's amazing that in such a far away place I have fans who want me to come to play. I can't wait to see the places Danny's told me about," Clarkson said. (Israel 21C)
