In an event saluting the 100th birthday of Mehli Mehta, four festive concerts conducted by the maestro's son, Zubin Mehta, will be held by the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra in Mumbai from October 7 to 12. Mehta will be joined by Daniel Barenboim, Pinchas Zukerman, Placido Domingo and the soprano Barbara Frittoli, all close friends of his. One of the concerts, featuring Placido Domingo, 72, will take place in the Cricket Stadium of Mumbai. Since Zubin is "crazy" about cricket, he came up with the idea to perform this concert with Placido Domingo in the same stadium where he spent a lot of time during his youth.
