Iran Keeps Building as America Keeps Talking.

Israel finds itself surrounded on three sides by some 500,000,000 hostile Arab neighbors. Based on intelligence gathering by the United States and countries in the European Community, it is now a known fact that Syria possesses chemical and biological weapons.  We have seen what Syria has done and continues to do to its own citizens with these vile instruments. President Assad has no qualms in using any means possible in killing thousands of his own citizens for the sake of remaining in power.  If he uses these tactics on his own people, what is to prevent him from attacking Israel in trying to obtain the Golan Heights as a key strategic position?  Why is the Golan so important?  Because it extends between the borders of Syria, Lebanon and Jordan and serves as a buffer to help secure Israel’s border to prevent Arab armies from flooding Israel from the north.  Furthermore, from the Golan Heights all of northern Israel is within direct range of artillery fire from hostile neighbors and the main water sources for the State of Israel are controlled from the Golan Heights.

Assad has allowed continued arms shipments through Damascus from Iran to provide Hezbollah with an arsenal of some 60,000 rockets. Iran obtains much of its military hardware from Russia and passes it on to Hezbollah. And where are these rockets pointed? Israel.  And where is Hezbollah’s main base of operation? Lebanon. As reported in a recent AP article dated May 10, 2013, “Russia defended its sales of anti-aircraft systems to the regime of Syrian President Bashar Assad, just days after joining forces with the U.S. for a new push to end Syria''s civil war through negotiations. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov avoided saying whether those sales included advanced S-300 batteries. Israel has asked Russia to cancel what it said was the imminent sale of the S-300 missiles, portrayed by U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry as destabilizing to Israel''s security. The S-300s would make it harder for the U.S. and other countries to even consider intervening militarily or enforcing a no-fly zone in Syria. The U.S. has urged Russia — an Assad ally along with China, Iran and the Lebanese Hezbollah militia — to cut off weapons supplies to Syria.”  As Syria continues to build its arsenal, who is to say they would not use these as an advantage to bring war upon Israel?
With all of the attention shifting to what is currently going on in Syria and in Egypt, have we lost sight of what Iran continues to do?  One thing is for certain, Iran’s efforts to enrich Uranium for nuclear use proceeds with the intent of using a guidance system to deliver a nuclear punch to Israel.  Not only should Israel be alarmed by this but the rest of the world should be alarmed as well. A nuclear armed Iran brings a worldwide threat to every corner of the globe.  Sanctions and talk have done little to curb Iran’s nuclear ambitions and progress. To a regime led by the likes of Ali Ayatollah Khomeini, there are no sanctions strong enough to stop the madness of extreme Islamic ideology.
The words spoken by Mark Regev, Spokesman for Israel’s Prime Minister Netanyahu, resound clearly when he stated, “…talking is like riding a bicycle while enriching Uranium is like driving a race car.  Iran and the Khomeini regime are perfectly content for the United States to talk. It allows Iran to continue to drive its race car towards Uranium enrichment.”
So why has Israel drawn a red line in the sand? The answer is clear. It cannot allow Iran and other rogue Arab nations to continue promoting Israel’s destruction. It cannot allow Iran to reach the “Immune Zone” of having nuclear capabilities.  Self preservation is a basic human instinct.
Prime Minister Netanyahu summed it up quite clearly earlier this year during his U.N. speech containing these words, “Three thousand years ago King David reigned over the Jewish state in our eternal capital, Jerusalem. I say that to all those who proclaim that the Jewish state has no roots in our region and that it will soon disappear. Throughout our history, the Jewish people have overcome all the tyrants who have sought our destruction. It’s their ideologies that have been discarded by history. The people of Israel live on. We say in Hebrew Am Yisrael Chai, and the Jewish state will live forever.”
God’s Red Line was the Red Sea.  Will the Iranians be smarter than the Egyptians and refrain from crossing Netanyahu’s Red Line?  If not, based on God’s Word, they will surely suffer the same crushing fate.
