A 21-year-old motorcyclist was killed in Hadera on Wednesday evening.

The driver, described as a soldier, was struck by a vehicle driven by a 75-year-old woman.
He was mortally wounded and died of his injuries as paramedics rushed him to an area hospital.

Meanwhile, a 20-year-old man was critically injured in a motorbike accident in the Ramot neighborhood of Jerusalem on Wednesday morning.

The accident came the day after a 16-year-old resident of Givat Zeev, Lior Navon, was killed after taking his friend's motorbike for a joyride early Tuesday morning.

According to the transportation safety advocacy group Or Yarok, motorcycles are responsible for approximately 12 percent of traffic fatalities, despite accounting for just 4% of the vehicles on the road. In 2010, there were 45 motorcycle deaths out of a total of 387 traffic fatalities.
