One person was killed, and nine people were injured in two serious car accidents on Saturday afternoon on Route 1 near the Shapirim junction.

In the first accident, the driver lost control of the car and a woman who flew out of the vehicle's window was killed.

One person was critically injured, another moderately injured, and three people were lightly wounded.

In the second accident that happened nearby, a man was critically injured, and four others were lightly wounded.

All the injured people were transferred to Assaf Harofeh Hospital and Sheba in Tel Hashomer.
