An 11-year-old boy died after a gate collapsed on him at a sports facility in Haifa on Thursday night.

Police said the iron gate collapsed after one of the children at the ground hung from it.

The injured boy was struck on the head by the collapsing structure.

Magen David Adom paramedics rushed him to the Rambam Medical Center in Haifa, where he was pronounced dead by doctors.

Police have launched an investigation.
