Some 4,000 people Friday took place in a funeral procession for a 66-year-old man mistakenly killed during an IDF arrest raid in the West Bank city of Hebron Thursday night, Palestinian news service Ma'an reported.

Top Fatah and Hamas officials participated in the event, on the heels of the two parties throwing accusations of blame for the man's death and the circumstances surrounding it, according to the Ma'an report.

The IDF spokesman expressed regret for the death of Omar Kawasmeh in a statement Friday. It said that a quick investigation has been ordered and that the results were expected next week.
