Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas harshly criticized the conduct of Hamas following recent violent clashes with members of the Islamic Salafi stream identified with al-Qaida in the Gaza Strip, Agence France Presse reported Monday. "The methods Hamas has chosen are cruel and inhumane. I am not familiar with this small group, but I believe it is a wing of Hamas," Abbas said, speaking in the West Bank city of Ramallah. At least 24 people were killed and 150 were hurt during the violent clashes in the Strip, which started Friday evening and ended Saturday morning
