Abbas to ask Islamic countries for aid in Mecca

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas was set to ask the Organization of Islamic Countries (OIC) for "hundreds of millions" to fund an economic plan, Ma'an news agency reported Sunday.
According to the report, Abbas was headed to Saudi Arabia on Sunday ahead of the Tuesday OIC summit in Mecca, where he will present his economic plan on industry, agriculture and housing, designed to help the PA end its fiscal crisis.
Abbas will briefly address the summit and discuss Palestinians concerns such as "land confiscation, displacement and the Judaization of Jerusalem," according to the report, plus the Palestinian's renewed bid for UN membership.
