BEIRUT - At least 19 people were killed in shelling of the Arbaeen district in the Syrian city of Hama on Monday, activists said.

The incident occurred a day after United Nations observers, monitoring an 11-day-old ceasefire agreement, visited Hama, a hotbed of a popular revolt against President Bashar Assad.
