KABUL - The Afghan Interior Ministry strongly condemned a US soldier's killing of up to 16 Afghan civilians on Sunday in the southern Kandahar province, its spokesman said.

"We condemn the shootings in the strongest terms possible and this will be fully investigated," Sediq Sediqqi told Reuters after a US soldier went on a shooting rampage, bursting into civilians' homes in villages near his base in the middle of the night.
