A commander from the Izz a-din al-Kassam Brigades said Thursday that Israel mistook the body of a terrorist for that of Sec.-Lt. Hadar Goldin during a tunnel kidnapping attempt during Operation Protective Edge last August.

In a report aired on Al Jazeera Thursday, a Kassam Brigades commander said that the IDF mistakenly recovered the body of the terrorist who killed Goldin, Walid Tufik Masud.

The terrorist was wearing an IDF uniform, he claimed.
