Algerian security officials on Saturday said that Islamist extremists killed 13 soldiers in an attack on an army post as the soldiers were watching a televised speech by the country's president, AP reported.
During the attack, two militants were killed by the soldiers at the post in Kabyle, near Algiers.
Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika announced constitutional reforms Friday night that he said were "aimed at deepening the democratic process," reported AP.
