Arab League to reject foreign intervention in Libya

CAIRO - Arab League foreign ministers will meet on Wednesday in Cairo to discuss a draft resolution rejecting foreign military intervention in Libya, the deputy secretary general of the league said.

"The Arab League, at the level of permanent delegates, on Tuesday introduced a resolution to be submitted to the ministers of foreign affairs during their meeting ... to reject any foreign military intervention in Libya," Ambassador Ahmed Ben Helli, deputy secretary general of the Arab League, said.

Amr Moussa, the head of the league, called for an end to the violence in Libya last week, saying the demands of Arab people for change are legitimate and calling for talks, not confrontation.
