Arizona man charged with supporting ISIS

NEW YORK - An Arizona man was indicted on Thursday for supporting the militant group Islamic State, US authorities announced.

Ahmed Mohammed El Gammal, 42, of Avondale, Arizona, helped a New York City college student travel to Syria for military-style training from Islamic State, according to court papers filed in Manhattan federal court.

El Gammal was arrested on Monday in Arizona, authorities said, and was being held without bail.
