IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi left Israel Sunday morning for a five-day visit to Italy and France, according to the IDF Spokesman's Unit.Ashkenazi was invited by Italian Army Chief of Staff Gen. Vincenzo Camporini and his French counterpart, Admiral Édouard Guillaud. He plans to discuss cooperation between the countries and their armies.
