Assad: US interference in other countries' affairs contradicts American values

September 18, 2013 21:48

The American administration's policies, that are based on waging wars and interfering in other countries' affairs, do not server the interests of the American people and contradict their values and principles, Syrian President Bashar Assad told a US delegation on Wednesday, official Syrian news agency SANA reported.

The delegation, that includes former Congressmen, anti-war activists and journalists and is led by former US Attorney-General Ramsey Clark, met with the Syrian president in Damascus. Members of the delegation promised Assad they will continue to defend Syria, and work to "uncover the false nature of the accusations promoted by [US President Barack] Obama's administration to the American public opinion to justify aggression on the Syrian people."
