Assad issues general amnesty, excluding 'terrorist' crimes

Syrian President Bashar Assad on Tuesday issued a blanket amnesty in the country for all crimes committed "up until today," with the exception of "terrorist crimes," AFP, citing Syrian state television, reported.
According to the report Assad "decreed a general amnesty for crimes committed before October 23," except for those carried out by "terrorists," a term used by the regime to describe the rebel forces at the forefront of the ongoing uprising against Assad's rule.
