A yeshiva student who was arrested last week for failing to present himself at an IDF recruitment office for initial conscription processing was released on Thursday, Army Radio reported.

According to the report, Eliyahu Cohen had received a 20-day sentence in military prison.

Haredi activists held protests in recent days calling for his release, threatening to continue to demonstrations during the Passover holiday if authorities did not free Cohen.
