Nine-month-old baby left in jeep dies

A nine-month-old baby died on Monday after being left in a car belonging to her parents for almost eight hours on Monday, one of the hottest days so far this year, Tel Aviv Police reported.

The baby was found by its mother the family jeep on Eliezer Aryeh street in Ramat Gan, in critical condition. Paramedics who arrived at the scene tried to revive the baby, to no avail. The baby was taken to Tel Hashomer Hospital in Ramat Gan in critical condition, and was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.

The father of the deceased baby has been detained for questioning.
