Bangladesh boat carrying migrants sinks, nearly 100 missing

COX'S BAZAR - A boat carrying 110 Bangladeshis and Rohingya Muslims from neighboring Myanmar sank in the Bay of Bengal on Wednesday as they were heading to Malaysia and nearly 100 of them are missing, a Bangladeshi border force officer said.

The boat went down in rough seas, Lieutenant-Colonel Mohammad Jahid of the border guards force told Reuters by telephone. Twelve people had been rescued and the search was on for the others, he said
