Barak updates UN chief on progress made by US envoy Mitchell

Defense Minister Ehud Barak spoke on the phone with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon on Tuesday and updated him on the peace process and the progress made by US Middle East envoy George Mitchell, the Defense Ministry said.

The two also spoke about the $10.5 million dollars in compensation Israel had paid for damage sustained by UN buildings during last winter’s Operation Cast Lead in Gaza.
