Beirut hospital: Patient feared to have Ebola tests negative for virus

A hospital in Beirut confirmed on Thursday that test results for Ebola came back negative for a patient who showed possible symptoms of the virus, an official from Rafik Hariri University Hospital in the Lebanese capital told The Daily Star.
According to the hospital spokesman, the doctor who conducted testing for the patient is now 100 percent sure that it is not an Ebola case.”
Lebanon's Health Ministry had not yet receive official test results and said the patient had arrived from West Africa to the Middle East country a week ago, a ministry source was reported as saying.
“He did not show any symptoms during his flight [or] when he was filling out the application,” the source told the Daily Star. “But when the ministry followed up on him today, he said he has been experiencing many suspicious symptoms.”
