A day after a Palestinian report claimed that Gilad Schalit would be released in a prisoner swap deal by the end of September, security cabinet member Binyamin Ben-Eliezer on Monday expressed hope that the captured soldier would be freed by the festival period, and praised Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu for his efforts on the subject. "Every effort is being made so that Gilad Schalit can come home," he told Army Radio. "Since entering office, the prime minister has been making every effort so that this can end. I really hope that by the festivals, Gilad will be with us."
