Bayit Yehudi Chairman Naftali Bennett met with Pope Francis in Jerusalem on Monday afternoon after complaints that the party had failed to send a representative to greet the pope at Ben-Gurion Airport on Sunday.

The chairman welcomed the pontiff to Israel, saying, "We're glad to have you in our capital of 3,000 years, Jerusalem, city of peace."

Afterwards, Bennett said of the pope: "I noticed that he had good eyes."
