American Vice President Joe Biden called Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak on Thursday night to discuss the peace talks between Israel and the Palestinians, according to official Egyptian news sources.

Israel Radio reported that America is putting pressure on members of the Arab League to give US Envoy to the Middle East George Mitchell time to mediate between Israel and the Palestinians before the next League meeting.
