Biden to make Saudi visit to pay US condolences

WASHINGTON - US Vice President Joe Biden will travel to Saudi Arabia to pay condolences to the royal family on the death of Crown Prince Sultan, the White House said on Sunday.
During a telephone call, President Barack Obama told Saudi King Abdullah of the plans for Biden to make the visit.
Obama expressed his own condolences to the king during the call, according to a White House statement.
"The president praised Crown Prince Sultan's many contributions over the past five decades, including his critical role in building the strong and enduring partnership between the United States and Saudi Arabia," it said.
