Police believe gunmen tried to assassinate Avi Lachiani, the brother of Bat Yam Mayor Shlomo Lachiani, overnight Tuesday. Lachiani was lightly wounded after several shots were fired in his direction from a passing car on the city's Jabotinsky Street. He was treated by Magen David Adom paramedics at the scene. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
