Canada decided on Tuesday to continue providing aid to the Palestinian Authority, Canadian paper The Globe and Mail reported.

Ottawa also decided against taking any other punitive steps against the PA in response to its UN statehood bid.

According to The Globe and Mail, Foreign Minister John Baird said Canada will keep an eye on the Palestinians' next move, and encourage return to peace talks with Israel.
