Central District Police chief Stein resigns

Central District police chief, Asst.-Ch. Bruno Stein, announced Wednesday that he was resigning.
Stein said that he was resigning for personal reasons, to study and spend more time with his family.
Stein's resignation came amid a Wednesday report in Ha'aretz that he attended a private party last week thrown by attorney Ronel Fisher, who is currently the subject of a major bribery investigation.
Fisher has represented a number of high level police officers. He stands accused of tipping off Ashdod Port union head Alon Hassan about the case against him and the raid at the Ashdod port shortly before it took place. The attorney is also suspected of being involved in a number of other cases where investigative information he received from his police officer clients was handed down in exchange for bribes.
